迎合全球華文學習熱潮，國立台灣師範大學校長張國恩、亞洲大學校長蔡進發、中國醫藥大學副校長陳志鴻，7月6日在亞洲大學為成立「台師大．中亞聯大聯合華語中心」簽約，同時舉辦揭牌儀式。
張國恩校長表示，台師大在中部成立華語中心，願意提供培訓華語師資、教學和教材平台，以吸引更多外籍生來台學習華語，擴大爭取華文教學市場。
亞洲大學同時成立「東南亞區域研究中心」，配合政府的南向政策，率先推動「培育人才、產業鏈結」教學策略，人文社會學院院長陳英輝指出，將利用台灣在東南亞的優勢，開設東南亞語言教學，如泰語、越南語、印尼語，讓台灣學生將來到東南亞就業更具競爭力；同時連結「台師大．中亞聯大聯合華語中心」，吸引東南亞學生來亞大學習華語；並培育台灣東南亞外配移民第二代，將來可回到東南亞發展，落實南向政策。
在「台師大．中亞聯大聯合華語中心」簽約議式中，蔡進發校長說，配合政府的南向政策，華語教學是重點之一，台師大是全球華語文教學的品牌學校，台師大願意在亞大成立中部華語中心，在台師大提攜、指導下，「中亞聯大」定能發揮教學實力，加速國際化的腳步。中醫大副校長陳志鴻樂見「台師大．中亞聯大聯合華語中心」在亞大成立，此舉別具意義。
台師大校長張國恩表示，該校每年有8,000多位外籍生來台師大學習華語，願意把學習華語過剩的外籍生分給中部中醫大、亞大的「中亞聯大」，另一方面，三校可進一步共同擴展推動華語產業，台師大將在中部建置華語師資、教學和教材平台，爭取更大的華語教學市場。
稍後，張國恩校長向亞大主管人員以「重塑21世紀的高等教育課程」為題演講。
